This is an excellent opportunity for an SLP who is passionate about helping patients regain communication, cognitive, swallowing, and functional abilities following injury or illness.
As part of our interdisciplinary rehabilitation team, you will work closely with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized treatment plans and help patients progress toward greater independence. What You’ll Do Provide skilled Speech-Language Pathology services to patients in an inpatient rehabilitation setting. Evaluate patients and develop individualized treatment plans based on their diagnosis, functional needs, goals, and potential for recovery.
Develop, document, and implement appropriate treatment plans designed to promote optimal patient outcomes. Provide therapy to patients with a wide range of diagnoses, injuries, ages, and rehabilitation needs. Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as appropriate.
Participate in regularly scheduled interdisciplinary patient care-team conferences to discuss therapy goals, patient progress, and discharge recommendations. Collaborate closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of evaluations, treatment plans, interventions, and patient progress. Demonstrate strong organization and time-management skills while working in a dynamic rehabilitation environment.
Encourage, motivate, and inspire patients as they work toward greater independence and recovery. Provide compassionate, patient-centered care throughout the rehabilitation process.
Schedule PRN – As Needed Inpatient Rehabilitation Scheduling based on patient and department needs Qualifications: What We’re Looking For Appropriate degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program. Current, valid Mississippi Speech-Language Pathology license, or eligibility for licensure.
ASHA membership. Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) or active pursuit of CCCs with anticipated attainment within one year of employment. American Red Cross BLS certification. New graduates are welcome to apply. Clinical experience in acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, or outpatient therapy is preferred.
