Job Description

  • As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you’ll contribute to our success in the following ways:
  • Provide physical therapy services according to the treatment plan established by the Physical Therapist.
  • Help patients work toward therapy goals that improve mobility, function, and independence.

Monitor patient progress and promptly report changes in condition or concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist.

Educate patients and caregivers on home therapy programs and techniques to support continued progress.

Teach patients and families how to safely use assistive devices, including canes, walkers, wheelchairs, prosthetics, and orthotics.

Deliver safe, high-quality therapy services in accordance with physician orders, clinical standards, and state practice guidelines

What is Required?

  • Current, unrestricted PTA license valid for the state of work
  • Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program approved by the American Therapy Association
  • 6+ months experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant is preferred

Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, and support up to 50 pounds, including positioning or transferring patients and moving equipment

Must possess a valid driver's license, maintain an acceptable driving record, OR have reliable transportation to travel between patient homes and assigned work locations

Key Responsibilities

The Physical Therapist Assistant will provide physical therapy services according to established treatment plans to improve patient mobility and independence. They are also responsible for monitoring patient progress and educating patients and families on the safe use of assistive devices and home therapy programs.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a current, unrestricted PTA license and have graduated from an accredited physical therapy assistant program. At least 6 months of experience is preferred, along with the physical ability to transfer patients and a valid driver's license for travel.
