The respiratory therapist initiates and administers respiratory care to patients with cardiopulmonary abnormalities according to provider prescriptions. They also serve as a clinical resource for the healthcare team and assist in emergency situations like Code Blue.
Requirements
Candidates must hold an Associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy and a current Michigan Respiratory Therapist license. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentials and various life support certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP) are required within one year of hire.
