Who You Are

We are seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for a Full Time role working in a clinical setting. As a member of the health care team, the Physical Therapist Assistant provides physical therapy treatment under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to help patients improve mobility, strength, function, and independence. The Physical Therapist Assistant will:

• Implement treatment plans as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist, including therapeutic exercises, gait training, functional mobility, activities of daily living training, and neuromuscular re-education
• Administer modalities and interventions as permitted by license and plan of care.
• Prepare patients and treatment areas/equipment; assist with patient transfers, positioning, and transportation as needed
• Observe, measure, and document patient responses, progress, vital signs, range of motion, and any adverse reactions; report findings promptly to the supervising Physical Therapist
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on home exercise programs, proper use of equipment, safety, and techniques to support recovery
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in the medical record according to facility, state, and payer requirements
• Adhere to safety and control standards at all times
• Maintain high level of professional communication with staff

What You Need

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Associate’s degree from a Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE)-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
• Current California Physical Therapist Assistant license issued by the Physical Therapy Board of California (or active application/eligibility status as allowed)
• Current BLS/ALS certificate
• Must pass Occupational Health Screening.
• Must possess a valid form of identification as listed on the U.S. Department of Justice I-9 form, verified using the E Verify system.
• Clean DMV driving record and MACT auto insurance driving eligibility (determined by auto insurance carrier).

The position requires an awareness and keen appreciation of American Indian traditions, customs, and socioeconomic needs and the ability at all times to meet and deal effectively in contacts with Indian health organizations which requires tact, courtesy, discretion, resourcefulness and good judgment in handling functions of a sensitive nature.
