Job Description

VitalCore Health Strategies (VCHS), an industry leader in Correctional Health Care has an opening for a PRN OB-GYN at Davidson County Correctional Facility in Nashville, Tennessee.

Physician OB-GYN Schedule

  • PRN - 4 hours a week, willing to work some Saturday clinics

Physician OB-GYN Position Summary

Provides comprehensive healthcare management including treatment to female patients

Physician OB-GYN Essential Functions

  • Obtain medical histories and conduct medical assessments and clinical exams with a focus on obstetrics and gynecology
  • Perform and/or order appropriate diagnostic tests to diagnose disorders and provide treatment.
  • Prescribe appropriate medications.
  • Educate patients about disease, disease prevention, and recommend medications or management.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team.
  • Provide antenatal and post-partum medical care during pregnancy and childbirth.
  • Good clinical knowledge base and familiarity with evidence-based practices.
  • Follows relevant medical policies and procedures

Physician OB-GYN Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited medical school
  • Fully licensed as a doctor of medicine to practice medicine in the state of Tennessee
  • Board certified obstetrician-gynecologist
  • The medical license shall have no restrictions and prior action by the medical licensing authority shall be disclosed
  • Current Controlled Drug Substance license and DEA license
