Radiology Technologist

Job Description

Responsible for the performance of quality radiology  procedures in a safe
manner.  Radiologic Technologists are responsible for providing CT and Dexa
imaging of excellent quality, with the knowledge regarding the utilization of
equipment necessary to perform examinations.

6:00pm - 6:00am - typically working 6 - off 7

Pay based on experience starting at $26.35

Responsibilities

Accurate image identification including documentation in patient records
(Charts) of proper consents, orders, and screening forms., Determines portion of
body to be imaged and properly positions the most suitable body position for the
images., Follow proper policy and protocol for procedures as outlined in
protocol guides, and hospital policy., Keeps work area neat and clean.,
Maintains equipment by routine cleaning and operations checks., Performs
intravenous injection of contrast media products under the guidance of the
Radiologist., Performs Radiographic exams in addition to; CT and DEXA exams by
setting, adjusting, manipulating, and controlling department specific
equipment., Positions patients and various body parts for radiologic exams. Uses
proper collimation and patient shielding., Processes images to PACS system.,
Produces technically excellent images., Remains current regarding knowledge of
Creatinine & GFR levels to aid in determining the use of contrast.  Understands
criteria, normal vs. elevated levels, protocols to follow for abnormal levels,
and consults w/ physician or nurse as appropriate., Utilizes ALARA principles to
reduce radiation exposure to staff members and patients., Utilizes Hospital
Information System (HIS) to obtain patient information, verify orders, complete
charges, and process studies., Utilizes proper safety techniques to scan
patients and provide excellent quality imaging.

Requirements

AS: Radiologic Technology (Required)ARRT - Radiography (R) - (within 1 year of
hire) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), BLS or CPR
certification (within 90 days of hire) - Sarah Bush Lincoln, IEMA - Illinois
Emergency Management Agency - State of Illinois
