Job Description
Inova Mount Vernon Hospital is looking for a dedicated Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our inpatient rehab team. This role will be PRN (at least 2 weekend shifts per month), 1 minor and 1 major holiday

Occupational Therapist (OT) Job Responsibilities
- Documents evaluation results clearly and completely according to department policy.
- Completes daily progress notes that reflect patients' responses to treatment, actual performance and an assessment as to status, relevant to the treatment plan, and eventual discharge needs and treatment summaries if needed.
- Completes discharge notes that include a summary of the course of treatment, progress toward goals, discharge needs, recommendations for follow-up and patient and/or family education.
- Communicates effectively with patients, families, medical staff, care team members, students, supervisors and outside contacts.
- Provides educational materials and methods appropriate to patients' level of understanding and motivation.
- Demonstrates essential skill competencies in the use of treatment modalities, equipment and protocols. Performs re-evaluations according to department guidelines – adjusting the treatment plan as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association upon start
- Licensure: Virginia license in Occupational Therapy upon start

- Occupational Therapy (OT) experience in the hospital setting

Key Responsibilities
The Occupational Therapist will perform patient evaluations, develop and adjust treatment plans, and document progress and discharge needs. They are also responsible for communicating effectively with the care team and providing educational materials to patients and their families.
Requirements
Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy and possess a valid Virginia license. Additionally, a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required upon starting the role.
