What You'll Need
- Currently in the second year of the Forsyth Technical Community College's Radiation Therapy Program
- One year of training in the Forsyth Technical Community College's Radiation Therapy Program
- Certification in cardio-pulmonary resuscitation
What You'll Do
Adheres to the general hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment by utilizing communication skills, interpersonal relationships and team building.
Prepares linear accelerators and radiation therapy equipment effectively and efficiently while under the supervision and/or direction of staff therapists and supervisors.
Adheres to radiation exposure regulations and practices to ensure adequate radiation protection.
Ensures accurate patient records via correct data entry, validation and archival of images.
Provides age-developmental appropriate care in accordance with Age-Developmental Specific Guidelines for the age groups served when participating in patient care.
Skills/Qualifications
Able to communicate on a professional level with physicians, nurses and other ancillary professional staff when discussing treatments and patient care.
Clinical skills to enable recognition and to function accordingly in relation to prioritizing of patient needs.

Key Responsibilities
The trainee will prepare linear accelerators and radiation therapy equipment under the supervision of staff therapists. They are also responsible for maintaining accurate patient records and ensuring adherence to radiation safety regulations.
Requirements
Candidates must be currently enrolled in the second year of the Forsyth Technical Community College's Radiation Therapy Program. A valid certification in cardio-pulmonary resuscitation is also required.
