Pediatric Cardiologist - Assistant/Associate/Professor

East Tennessee State University Quillen College of Medicine Department of Pediatrics is seeking a pediatric cardiologist to join our expanding cardiology division who can contribute to our excellent academic community in the beautiful Appalachian Highlands.

Position Summary

The pediatric cardiologist works closely with Ballad Health, the region’s health system encompassing 21 hospitals, of which Niswonger Children’s Hospital is the flagship pediatric institution for a catchment area of over 1 million people. Our referral area includes Northeast TN, Southwest VA, and portions of KY and WV.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient and outpatient services to pediatric and adult with congenital heart patients.
• Pediatric cardiology consultation services for Ballad Health facilities.
• Competency in interpretation of transthoracic echos, including fetal echos, EKGs, stress tests for outpatient and inpatient services required.

Interpretation of CMRI, CTs is optional.

• Develop and manage patient plans and post-op along with the option of remotely participating in referring hospitals at their combined cardiothoracic conferences.
• Academic responsibilities include teaching of medical students, pediatric residents, and adult cardiology fellows as well as academic pursuits

• Level III 44-bed NICU

Required Qualifications

• MD/DO
• BC/BE in Pediatrics and Pediatric Cardiology at time of hire
• Completion of Pediatric Cardiology Fellowship at time of hire
