Key Responsibilities
The Substance Use Counselor is responsible for conducting patient intakes, safety screenings, and diagnostic assessments to determine appropriate levels of care. They also manage the detox unit environment, coordinate with insurance providers, and develop individualized treatment plans.
Requirements
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 6 months of experience in substance abuse or mental health counseling. Experience working with specific populations in a residential treatment setting is also required.
