Baptist Health is hiring an Internal Traveler Registered Respiratory Therapist to Wolfson Children's Hospital in Jacksonville, FL.
This is a short-term contracted position requiring a commitment of 36hrs/week for up to 12 weeks with opportunities to renew. This is a night shift position working with NICU caseload.
At Baptist Health, a Respiratory Therapist is responsible for assessing, treating, and caring for patients with respiratory or breathing disorders.
This role involves administering respiratory therapy treatments, performing diagnostic pulmonary function tests, managing and monitoring mechanical ventilators, and providing patient education and respiratory care support.
The Respiratory Therapist collaborates with physicians and healthcare teams to deliver safe, effective, and high-quality patient care.
Registered Respiratory Therapist Job Responsibilities
- Assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with breathing disorders
- Administering respiratory therapies
- Performing and interpreting diagnostic tests
- Monitoring and managing mechanical ventilators for patients who require respiratory support
Collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
Providing patient education and support on proper breathing techniques, medication usage, and lifestyle changes
- Maintaining accurate and complete patient assessments, treatments, and progress documentation
- Registered Respiratory Therapist Education & Credential Requirements:
- Certificate Required
- Associate of Science Preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Preferred
- Or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Preferred
- Or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification Preferred
