Job Description
- Bassett Healthcare Network, in central New York, is seeking an Ophthalmologist to join our staff.
- Salary Range: $433,000 - $525,000
- Sign-on Bonus: up to $100,000
- Location: Cooperstown, NY
- Residency/Fellowship Stipend: Up to $40,000
Job Description & Responsibilities
- Join an established group of 5 Ophthalmologists and 3 Optometrists
- Current need is for high volume cataract surgeon-general ophthalmologist
- Currently there are specialists in medical retina, pediatrics and glaucoma. Sub-specialty interest in glaucoma, oculoplastic, cornea and cataract surgery would be welcome
- The support staff is well trained and experienced in both the clinic and operating room
- On call is every 5th weekend and rarely busy
- Practice within Bassett Healthcare Network, an integrated system delivering care across an 8-county region

- MD, DO or MBBS
- BE/BE in Ophthalmology
- Completion of an accredited USA Ophthalmology
- New York medical license (or eligibility to obtain)
- BLS Certification Required
Compensation
Salary Range: $433,000 - $525,000 plus performance-based compensation.
This compensation range represents Bassett Healthcare’s good faith belief of the compensation range at the time of this posting or advertisement. Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards
- Residency stipend up to $40,000 for up to 18 months prior to graduation
- Sign-on Bonus up to $100,000
- Bassett offers Physicians an incentive plan with no earnings cap. Individual performance and productivity can significantly enhance compensation with potential upside realized within the first year of employment

Key Responsibilities
The physician will perform high-volume cataract surgeries and provide general ophthalmology care within an integrated health system. They will collaborate with a team of ophthalmologists and optometrists while participating in an on-call rotation.
Requirements
Candidates must hold an MD, DO, or MBBS degree and be board eligible or certified in Ophthalmology. A New York medical license and BLS certification are required for the position.
