Blank Children’s Hospital
Blank Children's Hospital, a service of UnityPoint Health - Des Moines, is completely dedicated to meeting the unique health care needs of children. Blank Children's is a 108-bed environment that embraces and encourages families to be a part of their child's healing and recovery. Everything from equipment to decor is designed specifically for children.
Established team of 1 physician and 4 Advanced Practitioners
Opportunity to practice outpatient medicine in an established and well-known clinic with some rounding and consults in the hospital
Full-time position, including dedicated administrative time, with flexible scheduling to ensure sufficient patient access
- Fully integrated system with clinics and hospitals on EPIC EMR to improve care coordination
- Clinical track faculty appointment with the University of Iowa
- Fully accredited CF center
- Multidisciplinary CF clinic
- Fully equipped flexible bronchoscopy and laryngoscopy, exercise testing, and pulmonary function lab
Responsibilities
Average of 15 patients per day
Teaching and research opportunities - our residency program is fully accredited by the ACGME and offers seven categorical positions each year
- Shared call amongst the providers. Currently 1:4
- Practice is a mix of inpatient and outpatient
- Ability to work as a team member to improve the health of the people and communities we serve
- In-office consults
- Patient-focused, friendly and willing to collaborate in a team environment
- Opportunity for expansion in our asthma center
Qualifications
- MD or DO
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Pediatric Pulmonology
- Prefer Board Certified in Sleep Medicine
- Ability to obtain and hold an unrestricted license to practice in the state of Iowa
Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the physician’s field of practice
- Eligible to work in the United States (H1-B cap exempt)
- J-1 waiver sponsorship available
