Respiratory Therapist Emergency Department Float

This position is primarily located at Miami Valley Hospital Main Campus but can float to Beavercreek ED, Jamestown ED, and Austin Landing ED.

The Respiratory Therapist (RT II) functions in a skilled role that demonstrates professionalism and promotes excellence in the practice of respiratory care.

The RT II is responsible for the respiratory assessment, therapeutic treatment, evaluation, testing, education, and communication for all patient populations served. The RT II will coordinate care with interdisciplinary team to promote excellent patient experience.

The RT II is responsible for maintaining compliance with the Ohio Respiratory Care Laws, applicable regulatory standards, and institutional and system policies.

Education

Minimum Level of Education Required: Associate degree

• Type of degree: Applied Science or Equivalent
• Area of study or major: Respiratory Care or NBRC approved registry requirements
• Preferred educational qualifications: Bachelor’s degree
• Position specific testing requirement: N/A

Licensure/Certification/Registration

• Valid Ohio Respiratory Care License
• Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist Credential through NBRC (National Board for Respiratory Care)
• BLS
• ACLS
• NRP certification required within 6 months of hire or based upon course availability
• PALS certification required within 6 months of hire or based upon course availability
