About the Role
Inpatient pediatric surgery PA. 6pm-6am shifts. Full-time. Complex acute care. Work with autonomy under supervision. Seriously.
Key Responsibilities
- Participates in emergency treatment and triages appropriately.
- Maintains confidentiality of all department and patient matters.
- Competently assists/performs treatments/procedures for patients on their service.
- Evaluates care daily when making rounds.
- Documents assessment, plan, care provided, teaching and discharge planning.
- Assists with development of educational materials
Requirements
- Licensed as a Physician Assistant in the State of Ohio, Current NCCPA (National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistant) certification
- Must obtain credentialing as an active member of medical staff and appropriate medical staff privileges
- Performs diagnostic or therapeutic interventions consistent with certification, law and Akron Children's Hospital privileges

- Completes Bureau of Worker=s Compensation forms
- Must have Supervision Agreement filed, current certificate to practice and certificate to prescribe (or eligible) by Ohio Board of Medicine
- Current Health Care Provider BLS training is required
- With the supervision of a Physician, (as per O. R. C. 4730) the PA-C provides medical care, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions to patients with complex, acute, and chronic health conditions
- Assesses health status by obtaining relevant health and medical history
- Identifies significant health and medical risk factors
