Job Description

The Henry Ford Medical Group’s Division of Hospice and Palliative Medicine is seeking a physician to join our team as a Senior Staff Palliative Medicine Physician at Henry Ford St. John Hospital. This is a unique opportunity to serve a diverse patient population while contributing to a large, integrated, interprofessional, Hospice and Palliative Medicine Division.

Position Highlights

Practice at a respected academic institution with robust Graduate Medical Education programs and affiliation with Michigan State University College of Human Medicine and Wayne State University School of Medicine.

Care for a diverse patient population across inpatient and ambulatory settings.

Pursue opportunities in program growth, medical education, quality improvement, and leadership within Henry Ford Health.

Work with an experienced interprofessional team that includes dedicated advanced practice providers, social workers, and a chaplain.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as an attending physician on the interdisciplinary inpatient Palliative Medicine Consultative Service, primarily at Henry Ford St. John Hospital, with some cross-coverage at Henry Ford Warren Hospital

• Provide care one day per week in the ambulatory palliative medicine clinic at the Van Elslander Cancer Center.
• Teach and mentor rotating medical students, residents, and fellows
• Engage in scholarly activities including education, quality improvement, and/or research.

Qualifications

• Initial board certification in a primary specialty.
• Board-certified or board-eligible in Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
• Completion of a Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated qualities of being self-directed, flexible, team-oriented, and committed to continuous learning.
