Respiratory Therapist

Key Responsibilities

The Respiratory Therapist performs routine therapies for cardiopulmonary treatment, diagnosis, and evaluation, including initiating, monitoring, and weaning invasive and non-invasive ventilation based on clinical assessments and patient status. Responsibilities also involve ongoing evaluation of treatment regimes, administering medications, educating patients/families, and maintaining/troubleshooting respiratory equipment.

Requirements

Candidates must be graduates of an accredited Respiratory Care Program and possess a minimum of 1 year of respiratory experience, with 6 months in critical care. Required licensure includes RRT or CRT (with a requirement to earn RRT within one year if applicable), CPR, NRP within 90 days for relevant departments, and state RCP licenses for IL and/or WI.
