The Substance Use Counselor conducts client interviews, assessments, and develops individualized treatment plans to support recovery. They also facilitate group and individual counseling sessions while maintaining accurate treatment records and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Candidates must hold a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a helping profession and be able to obtain Georgia Department of Corrections clearance. Previous counseling experience is preferred, and the role requires obtaining state-recognized addiction counseling certification within 30 months.
