Job Description
Summary
The position works under the direction of the Radiology Manager and the Radiologist. This position takes images and radiographs of varied methods of the body in various modalities i. e. CT, Fluoroscopy, Surgery, X-ray, etc. to assist the Medical Staff in the diagnosis of disease and injury.
- Job Duties

- Performs Holter monitor services as needed.
- Performs Fluoroscopies, CTs, general X-ray, portables, surgery and DEXA's. *
- Positions patients properly to obtain diagnostic, high quality images. *
- Adheres to ALARA principles. *
Must be able to closely follow physician instructions, prepare radiography equipment, position patients and obtain optimal images for diagnosis. *
Demonstrates procedures to students monitoring their performance correcting faulty techniques and explains appropriate methods. *
- Document in EMR for every exam performed. *
- Communicates with radiologist (including off-site) exam details and status of exams to be read. *
- Properly submits studies to after-hours service with all necessary information. *
- Properly completes charges for exams performed. *
- Burn CD disc or push DICOM images when requested by provider or patient for patient transfers. *
- Notifies manager and appropriate department/company of any issues with equipment. *
- Keeps manager apprised of equipment, scheduling, and department issues. *
- Works towards radiologic competencies and learning of new modalities. *
- Efficient/appropriate use of down-time working on various assignments as assigned by manager/supervisor. *
- Compiles data and assists with Department QA and CQI projects at the request of the manager.
- Utilizes critical thinking to trouble-shoot issues with orders, PACS, and reports.
Takes lead in a special Radiology program (i. e. screening programs, monitor and track Holter Monitors,, develop department educational materials, workflow checklists, etc.).

Required Education and Experience
Graduate of an ARRT recognized two-year technical program with certificate of completion or by equivalent outside study.
- Must have current Radiology license in the state of MN by the ARRT.
- 2 years of experience with additional ARRT certifications in CT and Bone Densitometry.
- Current BLS certification or eligible for BLS renewal.
- Must have the ability to multi-task and work independently.
Preferred Education and Experience
5 or more years of experience preferred.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
40-hour work week includes a mix of 8, 10, and 12 hour rotating shifts, with weekend and holiday rotation.
*Opportunity to be weekdays with rotating weekend or Baylor (3 12-hour shifts Friday-Sunday, paid for 40 hours.)*
