Join Our Team as a On-Site School Physical Therapist in Allegan, MI!

Are you a dedicated Physical Therapist looking to make a difference in students' lives? E-Therapy is hiring for the 26-27 school year, and we want to hear from you!

Currently licensed in Michigan? If not, we’ll help guide you through the licensure process and explore other states where you may qualify to practice.

Position Details

  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Schedule: Full-time 32-37.5 hours
  • Grade Levels: K–12
  • Compensation: Starting at $50/hour (commensurate with experience)

Location: On-Site Allegan, MIWe are looking for a PT to provide services across our Early On and K-12 programs. The position is 0.8 FTE, with flexibility in scheduling based on the therapist’s availability. The PT would work with students and families in the Allegan and Fennville service area and collaborate with school teams, families, and other related service providers.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Physical Therapist (eligible) state licensure (and/or licensed in the state in which you live)
  • Passion for working with students in educational settings
  • School-based experience required

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough evaluations of students' mobility, strength, balance, and coordination.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans and goals tailored to students' specific needs and abilities.
  • Implement evidence-based physical therapy interventions to improve students' motor skills, range of motion, and functional independence.
  • Provide direct one-on-one therapy sessions as well as group therapy sessions as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other members of the educational team to integrate therapy goals into students' educational plans.
  • Monitor students' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Document therapy sessions, progress reports, and other relevant information accurately and in a timely manner.

Participate in IEP (Individualized Education Program) meetings and provide input regarding students' physical therapy needs.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Doctorate or Master's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Valid state licensure as a Physical Therapist.
  • Experience providing physical therapy services in a pediatric or school setting.
  • Proficiency in assessment tools and therapeutic techniques commonly used in pediatric physical therapy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Experience in teletherapy or online counseling (preferred).
  • Knowledge of adaptive equipment and assistive technology used in physical therapy (preferred).

Physical Requirements (Working in a School Setting)

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and move around in various areas of the school facility. The employee must be able to communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents both verbally and in writing.

The employee may need to lift or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds and may occasionally be required to bend, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Additionally, the employee must have the physical stamina to supervise and engage with students throughout the school day.
