Emergency Veterinarian Medical Director – Coastal Virginia Region

DVM Focus is representing a leadership opportunity for an experienced veterinarian interested in combining emergency medicine with medical leadership in the Coastal Virginia region.

This full-time Medical Director position offers the opportunity to remain clinically engaged while helping guide medical standards, support the veterinary team, and contribute to the continued development of an emergency practice.

The Opportunity

This role is designed for a veterinarian who enjoys emergency medicine and is ready to take on greater medical leadership responsibility. The Medical Director will work collaboratively with the practice team while maintaining a clinical presence and helping support consistent, high-quality patient care.

The position may be a strong fit for an experienced emergency veterinarian already serving in a leadership capacity or for a veterinarian prepared to take the next step into formal medical leadership.

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) degree or equivalent
  • Ability to obtain and maintain appropriate veterinary licensure
  • Experience in emergency or urgent veterinary medicine
  • Strong clinical judgment and communication skills

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with both clinical and operational teams
