Job DetailsJob Location: Acute Care Therapy - Memphis, TN 38103Position Type: PRNTravel Percentage: NoneJob Shift: WeekendsJob Category: Rehabilitation Services JOB SUMMARY Provides diagnostic and therapeutic services, patient/family counseling and appropriate referrals as necessary to patients exhibiting a speech, language, or swallowing disorder. Assesses, plans and implements treatment programs for patients according to established principles and practices of Speech and Language Pathology. Collaborates with interdisciplinary treatment team.

Completes required continuous training and education, including department specific requirements. Attends staff meetings, all mandatory in-service, and additional continuing education as required. Contributes to the annual review of unit-based scope statement and determination of important aspects of care for clinical review. Assists in the development of indicators, thresholds, study methods, and data collection as assigned. Responds to problems/opportunities to improve care. Supports and is involved in the organization’s Performance Improvement initiatives. Adheres to established departmental and organizational policies, compliance/quality improvement, and safety, environment and infection control standards. Assists in care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies. Provides coverage for relief and absences as required. Key Responsibilities
Provides diagnostic and therapeutic services for patients with speech, language, or swallowing disorders while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team. Develops and implements individualized treatment plans, monitors patient progress, and educates patients and caregivers on rehabilitation goals.
Requirements
Requires a Master's degree in Speech Pathology and at least one year of experience, though clinical fellowship candidates will be considered. Candidates must demonstrate strong clinical, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills to provide age-specific patient care.
