Key Responsibilities
The Registered Respiratory Therapist performs diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory procedures, including the initiation and monitoring of mechanical ventilators. They also document patient therapy, communicate with the healthcare team, and provide emergency respiratory care as needed.
Requirements
Candidates must be a graduate of an approved Respiratory Therapy school and hold a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the NBRC. A current state license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner and American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification are also required.
