Job Overview
The oncology pharmacist position is responsible for providing clinical support and consultative services in a complex retail pharmacy operation. This position partners with key stakeholders to drive medication safety, customer service, process improvement, clinical and formulary programs and initiatives and regulatory compliance. The oncology pharmacist will act as a primary resource in the development and education of students, residents, staff and interdisciplinary members of the care team.
This is a float pharmacist position where this pharmacist will rotate through the Adult Fairview Ambulatory Infusion Centers (Clinics and surgery center, Ridges, Maple Grove, and Southdale- with the Clinics and Surgery Center being the home site).
Responsibilities/Job Description
Provide clinical, formulary and pharmacotherapy expertise and act as a resource to students, staff and interdisciplinary members of the care team
Act as resource for pharmaceutical care to patients This includes partnering with interdisciplinary care team members to ensure appropriateness of medication order and therapy, drug selection, formulary correctness and compliance any other formulary or departmental initiatives
Provide clinical pharmacy services to all patients in assigned area including completing review for all patients daily, monitoring, adjusting patient therapies and documenting changes according to department policies
Accountable for the distribution and/or preparation of medications, sterile products, compound IV mixtures and other extemporaneous orders as appropriate
- Effectively consult and educate patients, staff and students on drug
- Execute the function of staff pharmacist
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
1 year pharmacist experience in complex pharmacy operation or completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency program
Licensed or eligible for licensure as a pharmacist in Minnesota
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency program
- Doctorate of Pharmacy
- 3 years experience in a specialty setting

The posted pay range is for a 40-hour workweek (1.0 FTE). The actual rate of pay offered within this range may depend on several factors, such as FTE, skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions.
