Job Title: Assistant Professor – Cardiac Surgeon
Position #:00852971 – Requisition #:41142
Job Summary:
The candidate will be expected to provide inpatient/outpatient medical care services primarily at the University of Colorado Hospital. The candidate will also provide independent clinical services for patients at other affiliated hospital sites including the Denver VAMC. The candidate will be expected to provide clinical services for heart and lung transplantation. The candidate will also be expected to participate in the development of protocols for the care of cardiothoracic surgery patients. The candidate may also be asked to participate in marketing and networking opportunities with referring providers.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Inpatient and outpatient surgeries
  • Aortic program and surgeries
  • Heart Transplant surgeries
  • Lung Transplant surgeries
  • Rounding, writing orders, and Hospital discharge
  • Patient assessment, patient education, care coordination, and disease management
  • Collaboration with colleagues, hospital and clinic staff
  • Engage in scholarly activities and education of student resident and fellows within the University of Colorado system
