Job Description
Inova Mount Vernon Hospital is looking for a dedicated Physical Therapist (PT) to join our acute care team. This role will be PRN requiring at least 5 weekend shifts per quarter with at least one weekend shift (Saturday or Sunday) per month, and 1 Inova recognized holiday per year. As a Physical Therapist, you will have access to state-of-the-art technologies with dedicated clinical specialists and 1:1 mentoring.

Physical Therapist (PT) Job Responsibilities
- Demonstrates essential skill competencies in the use of treatment modalities, equipment, and protocols.
- Performs re-evaluations according to department guidelines while adjusting treatment plans accordingly.
- Adheres to department policies regarding the timeframe, form, and content of written evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
- Gives appropriate instruction and supervision to assistive personnel consistent with program/clinic policies and regulatory requirements.
- Communicates effectively with patients, families, medical staff, care team members, students, supervisors, and outside contacts.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy
- Licensure: Physical Therapist upon start (VA licensure or compact privileges)
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association upon start

Key Responsibilities
The Physical Therapist will perform patient evaluations, develop and adjust treatment plans, and provide high-quality care in an acute hospital setting. They are also responsible for documenting progress, supervising assistive personnel, and communicating effectively with the multidisciplinary care team.
Requirements
Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy and possess a valid Virginia license or compact privileges. Additionally, a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required upon start.
