Physical Therapist Assistant

Job Details: Salary Range: Undisclosed, MRC is seeking a caring Physical Therapy Assistant to provide hands-on therapy that helps older adults build strength, improve mobility, and participate more fully in daily life.

Working under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist, you will encourage residents through every step of their rehabilitation journey. What You’ll Do Carry out individualized treatment plans under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.

Instruct, motivate, and assist residents with therapeutic exercise, functional mobility, ambulation, and activities of daily living. Help residents safely use supportive devices such as walkers, canes, crutches, prostheses, and other adaptive equipment.

Measure and record range of motion, body measurements, vital signs, and other information used to evaluate treatment response. Observe resident progress and promptly communicate changes, concerns, or opportunities to the supervising therapist.

Collaborate with rehabilitation, nursing, and other care team members to support coordinated, resident-centered care. Educate residents and caregivers about therapeutic routines, safe movement, wellness, and continued progress.

An encouraging, patient teaching style that supports active learning. Clear communication and sound judgment when reporting resident response or changes in condition. Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program. Current, unrestricted Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state of Texas.

Two to three years of experience in skilled nursing, senior living, or a related setting preferred; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Experience with specialized therapy programs or treatment modalities is a plus. Why MRC?
