Job Description

The Department of Pediatrics at Dartmouth Health Children’s and the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth seeks a board certified or eligible Pediatric Pulmonologist to serve the children and families of southern New Hampshire in conjunction with Elliot Hospital in Manchester, New Hampshire.

Dartmouth Health Children’s provides an extended system of care with primary, specialty, and advanced tertiary pediatric services, including 10 pediatric primary care medical homes across the region and inpatient pediatric services with PICU, level II Pediatric Trauma Center, and level IV NICU at its flagship Golisano Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth Health. Dartmouth Health Children’s also operates a comprehensive ambulatory specialty center at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Clinic in Manchester, the largest city in the state, where it collaborates with Elliot Hospital, a 296-bed acute care, ACS Level II Trauma Center that hosts a level III NICU, pediatric inpatient unit, and 24/7 pediatric emergency department.

The Section of Pediatric Pulmonology provides the only comprehensive childhood lung-health program across the state of New Hampshire, serving patients with asthma and other conditions.

The Section also administers the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation accredited NH CF Center with approximately 100 pediatric and adolescent patients.

The successful candidate will be based in Manchester, providing consults at Elliot Hospital and remotely to Golisano Children’s Hospital in addition to primarily ambulatory practice.

Teaching residents and medical students is expected, so eligibility for appointment to the faculty at the Geisel School of Medicine is required, at a rank commensurate with experience and academic portfolio.

Academic opportunities across Dartmouth's campuses include world-class traditional biomedical research, global health initiatives, and renowned leadership in quality improvement, outcomes, and healthcare delivery sciences at The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice.

Geisel hosts an extremely active Lung Biology Group with a strong legacy of NIH funding and collaboration with Pediatric Pulmonology.

Dartmouth Health Children’s is the pediatric service of Dartmouth Health, an integrated academic healthcare delivery system for northern New England anchored by Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC) in Lebanon, New Hampshire.

DHMC is recognized by US News & World Report as the Best Hospital in NH and is home to over 50 graduate medical education programs, NHs only Level 1 Trauma Center and air ambulance service, the Dartmouth Cancer Center (a National Cancer Institute designated comprehensive cancer center), and Golisano Children’s.

Dartmouth Health Children’s is committed to addressing racism and other forms of oppression that prevent all children and adolescents from living their healthiest, happiest lives.

Faculty at Dartmouth Health Children’s enjoy the rare opportunity to combine high-level academic medicine with a serene and stress-free living environment. Greater Manchester is often ranked among the best small cities in the United States for quality of life. With destinations like Boston, New York, Montreal, the seacoast and ski country within short driving distance, it is an ideal place to thrive, professionally and personally.
