Practice
For more than 25 years, Heartland Animal Hospital has been providing quality veterinary care in Owatonna and surrounding communities. Heartland provides comprehensive preventative, medical, and surgical services for dogs, cats, and horses.
Position Purpose
Come extern with us! Heartland Veterinary Partners' Externship Program works to provide veterinary students with hands-on experience and mentorship to help have them 'practice ready' by their first day in practice.
- Externships are typically 2 weeks long and Heartland will cover the cost of lodging if needed.
- Length of externship is flexible & we can support your preceptorship documentation as well.

- Must be currently enrolled in an AVMA Accredited Veterinary School
- Must be able to provide student PLIT
Key Responsibilities
The extern will participate in a hands-on veterinary program designed to provide mentorship and practical experience. The role involves assisting with comprehensive preventative, medical, and surgical services for dogs, cats, and horses.
Requirements
Candidates must be currently enrolled in an AVMA accredited veterinary school. Applicants are required to provide student PLIT insurance documentation.
