As the Regional Board-Certified Behavior Analyst, you'll play a pivotal role in transforming the lives of students across multiple Spectrum School locations by providing tailored clinical and educational interventions designed to meet each learner’s unique needs.
You’ll lead with expertise, guiding and mentoring your team through hands-on training and professional development, while consistently evaluating and elevating their performance.
As our primary advocate for quality assurance, you'll ensure our programs not only comply with applicable laws and regulations but also reflect best practices and internal standards, fostering an environment where students thrive and achieve lasting success.
This position works under the support and direction of the Regional VP, Operations and onsite Program Directors to enhance the academic, social, emotional, and behavioral outcomes of students through use of evidence-based interventions and in collaboration with the operations and educational staff from each campus within assigned area.
‖ Responsibilities Include:
- Delivering practical training and ongoing coaching that equips teachers and educational staff to conduct meaningful Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and develop, implement, and refine individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) that support student success.
- Monitoring the quality and effectiveness of academic instruction and behavioral support services, using student outcomes and implementation data to identify strengths, address gaps, and guide continuous improvement across assigned programs.
- Coaching Spectrum staff through hands-on modeling, constructive feedback, and collaborative problem-solving to strengthen instructional practices and promote measurable progress toward students’ Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals.
- Implementing evidence-based behavioral and educational interventions tailored to individual student needs, helping students build academic skills, strengthen social and emotional functioning, and achieve greater independence.
- Providing responsive crisis intervention and consultation for students exhibiting aggressive or self-injurious behavior, while developing proactive strategies that promote safety, strengthen coping skills, and reduce reliance on 1:1 staffing when appropriate to student needs.
- Partnering with campus education teams to establish consistent data collection practices, analyze behavioral patterns, monitor student progress, and adjust interventions to improve effectiveness and responsiveness.
- Conducting regular quality reviews across assigned campuses at the student, staff, classroom, and site levels, translating observations and performance data into actionable recommendations that strengthen service delivery.
- Strengthening campus teams through engaging training on behavioral assessment, intervention, positive behavior supports, data collection, and crisis management, helping staff confidently apply effective practices in their daily work with students.
- Providing guidance and supervision to staff pursuing Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) credentials, including RBT, BCaBA, and BCBA certification, in accordance with applicable supervision requirements and arrangements established with the Program Director or VP of Behavior Services.
- Partnering with campus leaders to develop and implement targeted improvement plans, establish clear priorities, and monitor progress toward stronger student outcomes and greater staff effectiveness.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary campus and regional teams during meetings to evaluate student needs, share behavioral expertise, and develop coordinated support strategies that connect assessment findings with practical classroom interventions.
- Monitoring adherence to applicable Department of Education requirements and internal standards for educational and behavioral services, identifying areas needing attention and partnering with campus leaders to implement improvements.
- Maintaining accurate, timely, and thorough documentation of assessments, intervention plans, student progress, staff training, and compliance activities to support continuity of services and informed decision-making.
- Supporting school operations throughout the assigned region by partnering with leaders to advance academic achievement, strengthen behavioral services, and promote staff development and retention through consistent guidance and collaborative problem-solving.
- Contributing to special projects and additional responsibilities that advance organizational priorities, strengthen program quality, and expand opportunities for student success.
‖ Qualifications Required:
- Master’s degree or higher in applied behavior analysis, behavioral health or a closely related field of study.
- Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining a board-certified behavior analyst (BCBA) credential.
- Hold currently or have the ability to obtain a valid CA state driver’s license.
- Ability to obtain and maintain certification in company approved crisis management training.
- Prior experience and/or highly knowledgeable in training and implementing applied behavior analysis (ABA) techniques including positive behavior intervention & support (PBIS), functional behavior assessment (FBA) and behavior intervention plans (BIP) in an educational setting.
- Prior experience and/or knowledge in special education services and compliance, effective teaching strategies, classroom management systems, data-based decision making, and personalized learning.
- Highly skilled in working with children with learning disabilities, emotional behavioral disorders, autism spectrum disorders, and/or other related disabilities.
- Prior experience and/or highly skilled in providing training, professional development and/or coaching to teachers and education staff.
- Prior experience and/or highly skilled in crisis management systems and intervention procedures.
- Proven success in developing and implementing effective behavior intervention plans for students with diverse needs at various levels.
- Proficiency in providing motivation and having critical conversations with students that help move them toward realistic goals.
- Highly skilled in building relationships with students, parents, teachers and community and/or district partners.
- Ability to think and act quickly and calmly in an emergency and make independent decisions.
- Advanced oral and written communication, organization, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem solving, and decision-making ability.
- Knowledge of relevant technology including experience with computers, Microsoft Office Suite, database entry and basic office equipment.

Key Responsibilities
The Regional BCBA will provide clinical and educational interventions across multiple school sites while mentoring staff and ensuring program compliance. They are responsible for conducting functional behavior assessments, developing intervention plans, and coaching teams to improve student outcomes.
Requirements
Candidates must hold a Master's degree in applied behavior analysis or a related field and possess or be in the process of obtaining BCBA certification. Prior experience in special education, ABA techniques, and staff training is required.
