Join Mater Group as a Occupational Therapist – Intellectual Disability & Autism in South Brisbane, Queensland. Mater is looking for an advanced practice Occupational Therapist to join our Queensland Centre of Excellence in Intellectual Disability and Autism Health. This is a maternity leave (19 hours per week) position maximum term for up to 12 months and will be based at our South Brisbane campus.

The role involves providing independent Occupational Therapy assessment, review, and management for patients with Intellectual Disability (IDD) and complex needs, while offering clinical leadership and advanced expertise within a multidisciplinary team. Specific duties include utilizing advanced knowledge related to IDD, autism, and mental illness, and conducting sensory assessments to support individuals with sensory sensitivities.
Candidates must possess current registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (APHRA) and a minimum of 5 years full-time equivalent post-registration experience, preferably in IDD or psychosocial disability, including experience managing junior staff or students. Essential requirements also include the ability to travel in Queensland and holding a current, full driver's license.
