Pathology Lab Assistant

About the Role

Join MercyOne in Iowa as a full-time Pathology Lab Assistant. This role supports various laboratory departments including blood specimen collection, microbiology, and anatomic pathology. You will assist technical personnel, prepare specimens, and support pathologists with frozen section testing.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect blood specimens and prepare laboratory samples.
• Assist in gross room and frozen section preparation.
• Manage specimen tracking and laboratory information systems.
• Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training within 3 months of hire.
• Computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

Work Schedule

• Full-time Monday to Friday.
• Day shifts alternating weekly between 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM and 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.
• No weekends or holidays.
• No night shifts.
