Occupational Therapist - Acute Care

Key Responsibilities

The Occupational Therapist plans, organizes, and conducts therapy programs in a hospital or community setting to facilitate the development and rehabilitation of handicapped individuals through various activities. This includes consulting with the rehabilitation team, selecting appropriate activities based on patient needs, teaching necessary skills, and evaluating progress to maximize independence.

Licensure & Certifications

Candidates must possess a Bachelor of Science or Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from an AOTA accredited institution and must be licensed or eligible for licensure in Louisiana, holding a license from the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners. NBCOT Certification is strongly preferred, along with working knowledge of computer software like word processing and spreadsheets.
