Key Responsibilities

• Patient Evaluation: Conduct thorough assessments of patients with lymphedema, including reviewing medical histories, measuring affected limbs, and identifying functional limitations caused by lymphatic dysfunction.

• Treatment Implementation: Perform manual lymphatic drainage (MLD), apply compression therapy (e. g., bandaging or fitting for garments), and design therapeutic exercise programs to reduce swelling and promote lymph flow.

• Care Coordination: Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers within Symbios Health to integrate lymphedema management into patients’ broader primary care plans.

• Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on self-management techniques, including skin care, compression garment use, and exercises to prevent exacerbation of lymphedema.

Requirements

• Education: Physical Therapy from an accredited program.

• Licensure: Active South Carolina Physical Therapist license (or eligibility to obtain).

• Certification: Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT) credential, such as through the Lymphology Association of North America (LANA) or equivalent training (e. g., 135-hour course).

• Experience: Previous experience in lymphedema treatment or rehabilitation preferred; new graduates with CLT certification will be considered.
