Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, histories, and physical exams for complex medical and post-acute patients.
- Perform and assist with procedures (e.
-, central lines, thoracentesis, paracentesis, wound debridement, suturing, lumbar punctures, and other invasive/minor surgical interventions).
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests; develop and implement treatment plans.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program; current Illinois PA license and NCCPA certification.
- Minimum 2+ years of procedural experience as a PA (hospitalist, surgery, critical care, or emergency medicine preferred).
- Proficiency in common inpatient procedures and comfort managing complex, chronically ill patients.
- Strong clinical judgment, teamwork, and communication skills.
