The Physical Therapist Assistant performs selected procedures and provides services under the direction of a licensed physical therapist who has evaluated the patient and developed a plan of care. Responsibilities include implementing treatment programs, coordinating patient care activities, documenting in medical records, and supervising support staff.
Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program and possess the required Physical Therapist license to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia, with no prior experience necessary. Effective interpersonal, communication, customer service, and teamwork skills are also required.
