This specialist role is responsible for administering routine and non-routine respiratory care, including setting up and maintaining critical equipment such as mechanical ventilators.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver, set up, and maintain a variety of routine and non-routine respiratory therapies and equipment, including oxygen, aerosol therapy, and mechanical ventilators.

• Perform and accurately interpret Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs) to assess patient respiratory and metabolic status.

• Administer medications used in respiratory care, applying expert knowledge of proper dosages, patient responses, and potential side effects.

• Teach, instruct, assess, and reassess patients and other staff members on respiratory care treatments and equipment use.
