About the Role
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) at Shepherd Center in Atlanta, Georgia, provides comprehensive assessments, diagnoses, and treatment for critically ill patients with complex conditions such as spinal cord and brain injuries. This hospital medicine role involves autonomous and collaborative practice within an interdisciplinary team at a nationally recognized rehabilitation center.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document medical histories.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests and prescribe pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and modify patient care plans.
- Provide psychosocial support to patients and families.
- Participate in clinical research and quality improvement activities.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records.
Requirements
- Master's degree or higher from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
- Licensed and certified as NP or PA in Georgia.
- BLS and ACLS certification.
- Minimum two years of clinical experience preferred.
