5CN is an Acute Medical/Surgical Telemetry Unit providing complex care to primarily Cardiology and Cardiothoracic patients; located at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee. Milwaukee is located in southeastern Wisconsin, 90 minutes from Chicago, IL and Madison, WI. Milwaukee is on the shores of Lake Michigan, the fifth largest lake in the world where Summerfest, the world's largest music festival and many ethnic festivals take place throughout the summer.

5CN is an acute Medical/Surgical Telemetry Unit that provides complex care to primarily Cardiology and Cardiothoracic patients. The telemetry station in the hospital is located on this unit providing monitoring of the 15 beds on 5CN, as well as remote monitoring on 4C, 6CN/S and 7C. All staff achieves and maintains telemetry competence, allowing flexibility in staff assignment to the telemetry station 24/7.

Key Responsibilities

of the Cardiac/Telemetry/Medical-Surgical RN include, but not limited to

Communicate and interact appropriately and courteously with internal/external customers
Maintain confidentiality of patient/employee information electronically, verbally and written
Integrate and apply pertinent aspects of Medical Center performance improvement program into professional practices
Provide care appropriate to the biopsychosocial needs of the population served
Practice
