About the Role

Join Eastern Virginia Medical School as a Advanced Practice Provider – Sickle Cell Program, $105K in United States. Overview The Department of Medicine has developed a Comprehensive Sickle Cell Program in collaboration with the Departments of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Psychiatry. This program is supported by EVMS and Sentara Health.

Key Responsibilities

Independently assess, diagnose, & develop treatment plans for patients with sickle cell disease as well as patients in the area of Primary Care in accordance with protocols and standards of care.

Differentiate between normal and abnormal findings and orders appropriate diagnostic studies.

Provide anticipatory guidance and counseling to patients/families.

Requirements

to insure proper billing.

Initiate and coordinate referrals to other health care team members or agencies.

Serve as a consultative resource to nursing staff.

Participate in the development, utilization and evaluation of resources to meet patient/family educational needs.
