Behavioral Health Specialist Emergency Department

Key Responsibilities

This position provides direct care to psychiatric patients under the direction of a registered nurse, including basic nursing care, monitoring status, and assisting with daily living activities. The specialist also helps maintain a safe, therapeutic environment, recognizes crisis situations, and participates in interventions like redirection or restraint as needed.

Requirements

Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in a behavioral health related field or a High School diploma with one year of direct patient care experience in an inpatient behavioral health setting. Required qualifications also include Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and meeting specific state agency age requirements.
