About the Role

Join STGi as a Medical Social Worker in United States.

Key Responsibilities

  • provide services at our Community Based Outpatient Clinic.
  • provide social work services under the direction of the CBOC Primary Care Physician, Psychiatrist, Nurse Pra.
  • Provide social work service based on physician's orders to meet the needs (physical, mental, and emotional).
  • Provide initial social work assessment for adult/ geriatric Primary Care and/or Psychiatric patients.

  • risk screening: identify Veterans at high risk for homelessness, suicide, frequent hospitalizations, inability to care for themselves.
  • Provide mandatory reporting activities including Child Protective Services (CPS), Adult Protective Services (APS) and Elder Abuse.
  • Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and assist during respiratory and cardiac arrest procedures as applicable.
  • Maintain documentation and case records consistent with VA and clinical standards.

Work Schedule

  • Full-time position.

Requirements

Candidates must possess a Master's degree in Social Work from a CSWE-accredited institution, with preferred experience working with mental health patients and in Medical Social Work. Required competencies include knowledge of social service principles, crisis dynamics, ability to react swiftly in emergencies, and proficiency in electronic documentation and basic computer skills.
