About the Role

Join Children's Nebraska as a Respiratory Therapist - ECMO - FT in United States.

Key Responsibilities

Excellent communication, assessment and patient care skills, as well as flexibility and ability to function in a high stress environment.

Flexibility to work full time day/night shifts with possible over time during ECMO run. Licenses and Certifications

Current and valid Nebraska license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner Required and

Registered Respiratory Therapist Upon Hire Required and

Requirements

Read physicians’ orders, measure arterial blood gases, and review patient information to assess patient’s condition.

Explain treatment procedures to patients to gain cooperation and allay fears.

Monitor patient’s physiological responses to therapy such as vital signs, arterial blood gases and blood chemistry changes and consult with physician if adverse reactions occur.

Administer therapeutic gases including nitrogen, nitric oxide, heliox, etc.

Work Schedule

Full-time position.

Weekend coverage may be required.

Night or evening shifts may be required.
