About the Role

Join Children's Nebraska as a Respiratory Therapist - ECMO - FT in United States.

Key Responsibilities

  • Excellent communication, assessment and patient care skills, as well as flexibility and ability to function in a high stress environment.
  • Flexibility to work full time day/night shifts with possible over time during ECMO run. Licenses and Certifications
  • Current and valid Nebraska license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner Required and
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist Upon Hire Required and

Requirements

  • Read physicians’ orders, measure arterial blood gases, and review patient information to assess patient’s condition.
  • Explain treatment procedures to patients to gain cooperation and allay fears.
  • Monitor patient’s physiological responses to therapy such as vital signs, arterial blood gases and blood chemistry changes and consult with physician if adverse reactions occur.
  • Administer therapeutic gases including nitrogen, nitric oxide, heliox, etc.

Work Schedule

  • Full-time position.
  • Weekend coverage may be required.
  • Night or evening shifts may be required.
