About the Role

Key Responsibilities
- Under general supervision and according to hospital policies and the laws of New York State: compounds and dispenses medications and supplies to patients and other professionals.
- Interprets and evaluates physician's orders to prepare, calculate and dispense appropriate medication and medication dosage forms.
- Communicates with prescribes and nursing personnel according to intervention procedure to clarify or change orders that are unclear, illegible, incomplete or questionable.
- Recommends changes in drug therapy when needed.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, required.
- Experience: Minimum one (1) year hospital pharmacy experience.
- Knowledge and Skills: Ability to communication in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Knowledge of computers and word processing skills.
