Job Description

UPMC is currently hiring for a Full-time Registered Nurse (RN) to join our outpatient Nephrology office in Williamsport, PA. This is a salaried Professional Staff Nurse, OP position with regularly scheduled hours Monday to Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, with no weekends or major holidays (7 paid holidays/yr). Purpose:
The Professional Staff Nurse, a Registered Nurse, is a vital member of the care delivery team. Their responsibilities include setting care standards, managing patient activities, collaborating with the healthcare team, and maintaining relationships with providers and patients.

Knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care and interact appropriately with patients served by the department.
Knowledge of growth and development across the lifespan, and the ability to assess and interpret patient data to identify age-specific needs and provide care in accordance with department policies and procedures.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Act 34 with renewal
Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
Registered Nurse (RN) OR *Temporary Practice Permit (TPP)
Current Pennsylvania nursing license, or a multistate license issued by an NLC‑participating state. Employees working on an out‑of‑state NLC license who later establish residency in Pennsylvania must apply for a PA Nursing license within 60 days of their residency change.
*UPMC requires that GNs take the licensure examination within 6 months of their start date or 1 year of graduation, whichever comes first.
