About the Role

Join Better-Health-Group as a Physician Assistant – Primary Care, 65+ in United States. Overview Our purpose is Better Health. Specializing in primary care for patients 65+ is our passion.

Key Responsibilities

  • will provide exceptional medical care to patients by conducting physical exams, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and developing patient treatment plans under the supervision of a physician.
  • will report to the Regional Manager (or similar role) and will work closely with other healthcare professionals to provide quality care to patients collaborating with other clinical teams to support team function.
  • will appropriately seek consultation from specialists when needed, though will stay involved in, and be responsible for, the detailed care of the patient Engage with hospitalists whenever a patient is in the hospital Meet all clinical obligations of the medical practice: Accrediting Agency compliance, CLIA compliance, drug prescription compliance, HIPAA, State and Federal regulations, Safety Regulations, etc Assess, diagnose, treat, manage, educate, promote health, and provide care coordination and documentation for patients with acute and complex chronic health needs using evidence-based medicine and practice guidelines Follow all internal policies and procedures Accountable for the completion of all operational tasks according to departmental guidelines to ensure appropriate clinical processing/documentation Maintain complete and detailed records, electronically in the EMR, of patients’ health care plans and prognosis, completed within 48 hours of each patient’s visit Provide patients with information needed to promote health, reduce risk factors, or prevent/manage disease or disability Analyze and interpret patients’ histories, symptoms, physical findings, or diagnostic information to develop appropriate diagnosis Interpret data and diagnostic results for an appropriate course of action including but not limited to blood gases, radiology, EKG, etc.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of the rationale of appropriate patient care Demonstrate ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from a various group of people Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions Excellent written and verbal communication, teaching ability, and good telephone skills Working knowledge with Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for real-time collaboration Physical Requirements: Full range of body motion, including handling and transferring patients, manual and finger dexterity; including eye-hand coordination Requires standing, walking, pushing, bending, kneeling, and reaching at arm’s length and overhead in a clinic for prolonged periods of time Must be able to lift and move patients and medical equipment as needed Requires ability to lift/carry up to 15 lbs Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range Ability to sit for extended periods of time Ability to operate a motor vehicle and have own means of transportation Key Attributes/ Skills: Has a contagious and positive work ethic, inspires others, and models the behaviors of core values and guiding principles An effective team player who contributes valuable ideas and feedback and can be counted on to meet commitments Is able to work within our Better Health environment by facing tasks and challenges with energy and passion Pursues activities with focus and drive, defines work in terms of success, and can be counted on to complete goals Demonstrated ability to handle data with confidentiality Ability to work cross-functionally with multiple teams; ability to work independently with minimal supervision Excellent organizational, time-management, and multi-tasking skills with strong attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication skills; must be comfortable communicating with senior-level leadership, providers, and health plans Strong interpersonal and presentation skills Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills Must be results-oriented with a focus on quality execution and delivery Appreciation of cultural diversity and sensitivity toward target patient populations Diagnose and manage chronic diseases, such as Diabetes, Atherosclerotic Disease, COPD, CHF, Obesity, etc in the senior population.
