Key Responsibilities

• A day in the life of a Dietitian at Hackensack Meridian Health includes: Identifies the needs of the patient population served and modifies and delivers care that is specific to those needs (i.

-, age, culture, language, hearing and/or visually impaired, etc.

• This process includes communicating with the patient, parent, and/or primary caregiver(s) at their level (developmental/age, educational, literacy, etc.

• Assesses patients' nutrition status as per individual facility Nutrition Screening and Assessment policy and ensures that they receive adequate and appropriate nutrition.

Requirements

• to be granted and/or to maintain order writing privileges.

• Plays an active role in the patient's nutritional care and readily communicates with Physician's / Licensed Independent Practitioners (LIP) and the interdisciplinary team.

• Confers with nutrition assistants regarding accurate modification of patients' menus as needed.

• Evaluates food distribution for conformance to dietary prescriptions and quality standards.
