Key Responsibilities

A day in the life of a Dietitian at Hackensack Meridian Health includes: Identifies the needs of the patient population served and modifies and delivers care that is specific to those needs (i.

-, age, culture, language, hearing and/or visually impaired, etc.

This process includes communicating with the patient, parent, and/or primary caregiver(s) at their level (developmental/age, educational, literacy, etc.

Assesses patients' nutrition status as per individual facility Nutrition Screening and Assessment policy and ensures that they receive adequate and appropriate nutrition.

Requirements

to be granted and/or to maintain order writing privileges.

Plays an active role in the patient's nutritional care and readily communicates with Physician's / Licensed Independent Practitioners (LIP) and the interdisciplinary team.

Confers with nutrition assistants regarding accurate modification of patients' menus as needed.

Evaluates food distribution for conformance to dietary prescriptions and quality standards.
