Provide psychiatric services via in-person and approved telehealth platforms, ensuring adherence to all privacy, security, and documentation standards, and compliance with applicable state and federal regulations.
Participate actively in an interdisciplinary Behavioral Health team, collaborating with psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, therapists, case managers, and support staff around diagnosis, treatment planning, and care coordination.
Participate in weekly high-risk case review meetings for the assigned office, presenting and discussing complex or high-risk cases and implementing agreed-upon treatment and safety recommendations.
Collaborate closely with primary care and other medical providers, offering consultation on diagnosis, psychotropic prescribing, side-effect management, and when to refer to specialty psychiatric care.
Support integrated care initiatives, including warm handoffs, shared care plans, use of standardized screening tools (e. g., depression and anxiety measures, suicide risk assessments), and coordination between behavioral health and medical services.
Coordinate care with external providers and systems (e. g., inpatient units, schools, community agencies) with appropriate consents and ensure timely follow-up after hospitalizations or crisis episodes.
Maintain timely, accurate, and complete clinical documentation in the electronic health record, consistent with organizational, payer, and regulatory requirements, including coding and billing documentation.
Meet established productivity, access, and quality expectations while maintaining a high standard of patient care and professional ethics.
Participate in departmental and organizational meetings, trainings, and quality improvement initiatives related to Behavioral Health and integrated care.
Provide clinical consultation to psychiatric nurse practitioners and behavioral health therapists regarding complex diagnostic and medication management questions; may supervise learners if applicable.
Adhere to all Cornerstone Family Healthcare policies and procedures and maintain strict confidentiality regarding patient, staff, and organizational information.
