- Evaluate patients for appropriateness of the procedures according to the medical necessity guidelines.
- Assure patient has thorough understanding of procedure, instructing patient in a clear and concise manner. (AIDET).
- Recognizes signs and symptoms for adverse reactions to medication or administered therapy and take appropriate action.
- Therapist is comfortable and competent in discussing with the medical staff all respiratory protocols.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Must be a Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist.
- Credentialed by the National Board for Respiratory Care. (CRT or RRT)
- Licensed by the Arkansas State Medical Board. (LRCP)
