Paediatric Primary Speech and Language Therapist

Join Pulse Healthcare as a Paediatric Primary Speech and Language Therapist in South London. Job Title: Locum Paediatric Primary Speech and Language Therapist Banding: Band 6/7 Location: South London Start Date: ASAP (September 2026 start available, with earlier start for handover considered) Rate: £24.00–£45.

Key Responsibilities

• In this role, you will: Assess, diagnose, and deliver therapy for children with a range of speech, language, and communication needs, including ASC, DLD, and SEMH.

• Manage a caseload of approximately 65 pupils across Enhanced Provision and mainstream settings.

• Deliver targeted interventions through 1:1 sessions, small group work, and classroom-based strategies.

• Support and implement AAC systems, including communication boards and other tools.

Requirements

• A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent).

• HCPC registration and RCSLT membership (or eligibility).

• Experience working with paediatric caseloads, ideally within schools or community settings.

• Knowledge of AAC, pre-verbal communication approaches, and interventions such as Colourful Semantics.
